The upcoming Quadrennial Commission hearings will be a crucial opportunity for the CSCJA to advocate for improved compensation for federally appointed judges. The Compensation Committee of the CSCJA has been hard at work since the conclusion of the last hearings to collect thorough and comparative data for senior government officials and senior level lawyers in various types of practice and compensation structure. Arguments must be filed with the commission on December 20, 2024. \u00a0 <\/span>Hearings are scheduled for February 20-21, 2025.<\/p>\n A report from the Commission can be anticipated in approximately July 2025, with a decision from Government up to four months after that. Although the timelines have been slightly delayed at the request of the Commission, our ask is that any approved increase in salary will be retroactive to April 1, 2024 .<\/p>\n The Association, the Compensation Committee and the legal team have focused all efforts and resources on demonstrating the need for a salary adjustment to attract quality candidates, remain competitive and to maintain judicial independence.
