Over the past year, the Governance Committee has undertaken a comprehensive review and re-drafting of our bylaws with the assistance of the charity and not-for-profit specialists at BLG LLP. This initiative was driven by the need to align our governing documents with our current practices and ensure full compliance with the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.
The new Bylaws will be presented for approval at the Annual General Meeting on June 26.
Other Governance Committee initiatives currently in progress include Defining roles and responsibilities for Executive Officers and the Executive Director, finalizing the strategic objectives for the next 3- to 4-year period as identified by Board, and formalizing the process for member participation at international conferences.
