The Association’s financial position remains strong:
- Revenue: The primary source of revenue is membership dues, totaling over $600,000 annually, supplemented by investment income.
- Expenses: The Quadrennial Commission continues to be a significant expense. Following the Commission’s report, the Association submits a claim for reimbursement of a portion of the total expenses incurred to represent the judiciary in the process. The Association strategically sets aside funds annually to cover the net balance and to ensure sufficient funds to cover the expenses upfront before any reimbursement.
- Investments: The Association invests operating funds and a savings fund restricted for the stabilization of premiums within the Supplementary Health Care Insurance Plan. The investment portfolio, held within the parameters of the CSCJA Investment Policy, continues to perform well and remains conservatively structured across fixed income, cash/short-term holdings, and equities.
- Audit Report: The auditor concluded that the financial statements were fairly presented in all material respects, with no significant deficiencies identified in internal controls. The Association ended the year with a modest surplus, and its reserves grew year over year.
